About 10 years ago, I was diagnosed as borderline diabetes and weighed about 275. Shortly afterward, I bought a Total Gym. I changed my diet. The first month I lost 10 – 20 lbs. I have been using it ever since 3 to 4 times a week, and the same machine. I’ve put duct tape on the foam handles to keep the foam from falling apart. But other than that, it is still the origanal machine, I am now about 200 lbs. and probably in the best shape of my life, even when I was in th army.
Hi Ray,
The Total Gym 1100 and Total Gym Achiever are more or less identical with the same body style and frame. They each come with only the wing and no squat stand.
Have you considered looking into the Total Gym XLS? It offers a smoother ride, is more durable and comes with a squat stand and Pilates equipment. For more information, visit http://www.TotalGym.com or call 800.541.4900.
Thanks for your interest,
Tom

Is the Total Gym Achiever the same as the Total Gym 1100?
